With the name “Gordoughs” I had to give it a try! Gordo in Spanish means “fatty” and and you mix that with “donut” and you get “Gor-DOUGH”!

Big.Fat.Donuts

They say that everything is ‘BIGGER and better” in Texas right? I had to check this place out……

Look at this!- Now you know why they call it Gordoughs!

Blue Balls ^ Fat Elvis

Wondering what this place is? Well, Gordoughs is a food truck and a public house (Restaurant) in Texas. What originally started as a airstream food trailer selling their unique donut creations, has now turned into more. They have expanded and now have a few brick and mortar buildings.

I had the chance to dine at the Downtown Austin location and I stopped by their newest location on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

During my trip to Austin I had to make a pit stop and see what this place was all about! I had planned to just stop in to grab dessert, but once I took a look at the menu… there was no turning back! LUNCH TIME was on!!!

The menu at the public house is AMAZING! {This is coming from a foodie!}

In Southern California, I am lucky to have an array of wonderful cuisine at my fingers tips. But when my husband and I travel, we ALWAYS have to check out GOOD EATS! Hip new places, breweries and of course-we eat where the locals do!

Foodie Culture is here!

At this Public House Eatery-

At this eatery you will find Eclectic donuts, tasty treats and an adventurous bar menu. Items such as; “Wiz-kale-leafa”- creamed spinach and artichoke dip mixed with parmesan and Swiss cheese, served with Yukon chips. Texas sized donut burgers, “Grandmas dumplings” -Chicken and “donut” dumplings with a garlic donut (FYI-this is to DIE for!!!!!). Soups, salads, appetizers, brunch, kids menu, dessert and a generous coffee list.

Don’t let me forget, they have a full bar with some pretty cool drinks!

TIP-(They are very helpful with food allergies & do offer options for vegetarians).

I love that this hip eatery also offers CBD infused cocktails and desserts. Being that I myself am a canna advocate and CBD educator, I thought this was pretty cool!

If you are just in the mood for dessert, they have a wonderful array of donuts. Grab yourself some “Blue balls” or “Salty Balls” donut holes or go for it and order one of their HUGE donuts! Fun names like “Fat Elvis”, “Grannys pie” or “Funky Monkey”. You can’t go wrong with any of these tasty donuts.

We ordered blue Balls and Fat Elvis for dessert. The Whistle Stop and The Big Cheese for appetizers, as well as a few lunch items: chicken fingers and Grandmas dumplings.

The presentation was great, portions were huge and the flavor was right on! The staff and service was also excellent.

Take a look around…..

The have a cozy front porch with games and a big screen TV

Also, an outside patio area. The outdoor area is set up pretty cool. Bar, yard games & more. Cool place to hang out with the family or grab a few drinks and night and chill with friends.

Lots of indoor seating with a fun and hip atmosphere.

I defiantly suggest that you add this destination to your “MUST eat” bucket list when in the Austin area.
