Sunday brunch buffet in San Diego

Everyone loves Sunday brunch! How about Sunday Brunch, endless mimosas and a movie on the big screen? If you’re looking at checking out a new brunch spot, I recommend you give this place a try! Sugar Factory and Theatre box have a great deal for you!

The Chocolate Lounge

Every Sunday from 10am-3pm “The Chocolate Lounge” inside of Sugar Factory turns into a brunch’ers paradise! This brunch buffet has chef stations for omeletes and waffles, entrees including eggs Benedict, french toast, roasted herb salmon, lots of salad options and an array of fresh fruit. Don’t let me forget the dessert station! Full of lots of sweet treats.

Brunch time

The brunch is $50 per person which is very comparable to the brunch spots in San Diego. But what sets this brunch apart from others is that sugar factory offers the amazing brunch and then you can head upstairs to theater box to watch a movie on the big screen!

Theater Box

Just to let you know, this is NOT a typical movie theater! Not only do you get VIP service for food and drinks but you can also order cocktails from your seat! Let’s talk about those seats!!! More like comfy laid back recliners! This is definitely a Posh spot and hot place to do a great date day! Theater box and Sugar Factory definitely gets a thumbs up from me!

*Brunch is $50 for adults and includes all you can eat brunch buffet and movie ticket, as well as a bag of popcorn too munch on during the show.

My personal review

My review-

I loved the variety of items. The salmon was on point! So moist, flavorful and delicious!! I also loved the fresh made to order waffles, great flavor and the fresh fruit and tasty toppings were a perfect addition. My husband loved the prime rib & the au jus had a nice richness to it. Of course the mimosas were enjoyable!!

My husband and I were there celebrating a few occasions; a “be-lated birthday” & also a “welcome home”! The restaurant is very spacious and great for celebrations but we wanted a spot that was a little more intimate, so we asked to be seated in the lounge area.

The staff-

Tyler was our server and he is a sweet heart. We enjoyed chatting with him and appreciated his great service.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Robert Smythe. We shared great conversation about the restaurant and of course I complimented him on the fabulous brunch. I am excited about their expansion. Not only do they have a movie theater, restaurant and bar, candy shop & snack cafe but they also have a rooftop bar and a few more things in store for this coming year.

It’s nice to have a new fun, hip brunch buffet in town! Great spot for locals and of course San Diego tourists!

Not only did Mr. Smythe and I have nice conversation about the restaurant but he shared a secret with me…. I am an avid tequila drinker and never, ever have I heard of this trick! Well, more of a delight!

Salud!

Next time you are there, order a nice shot of tequila and ask for fresh orange with cinnamon on it. Make sure you bite the orange and place the cinnamon on the roof of your mouth after! Believe me…. you will come back to this post and THANK ME!!!!

After brunch-check out Theater box

After your belly is full and the mimosas have kicked in… get comfy in the posh lounge, kick up your feet and enjoy the big screen!

Until next time my beautiful foodie friends… xo
