Spread the love

Let me start of by telling you that I am a “Recovering” Type ‘A’ personality! I had to plan EVERYTHING and know each & every detail. I am am over thinker, I worried and was concerned about the smallest things. I would research and sometimes maybe educate myself a little too much on things. With that being said, I am NOT (or should I say, I “wasn’t” an adventurous person.)

But my trip to Costa Rica a few years ago was a LIFE CHANGING experience. It changed my life in so many ways and it brought my family closer. (I will talk more about this in another blog post.)

So let me share with you one of my BIGGEST accomplishments in LIFE!

Learning to LET GO and ENJOY the moment! Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy!

My oldest Son is like me, very analytical and very cautious. My younger son, well lets just say..he lives life to the fullest, he is my adventure seeker! Then you have my husband, he loves the outdoors and the thrill of the unknown!

“We” ( I guess me going with them as a cheerleader meant I was on board!) decided to go zip lining. A trip to Costa Rica isn’t complete without zipping over the Rainforest right?! My oldest Son was not having any part in it & he stayed back at the airbnb. I choose to go since my little one was going with my hubby. (Yes, over protective Mother! )

I was in shock that I was there… ughhh! should I or should I NOT?!!!

I don’t remember exactly how it happened but some how next thing you know I was in the jeep on the way up the hill. OBVIOUSLY you can see the concern on my face!

Ummm…. we are going all the way UP there to the top?

Time to PANIC…but it is too LATE!

We were all geared up and on our way. Helmets, safety belts, harness, gloves. But the MOST important question is…Where is Mamas ZANAX?!!!!

Oh my…was I scared….. But I was doing it!!!

My heart was beating so fast….

When we reached the top the view was breathtaking (literally!)

I was shaking, I was flush..I was so nervous, but by this time there was NO WAY that I was letting my baby boy go by himself! However, the drop off vehicle had left and the ONLY way to get back down was…. ZIPLINE! So I was forced to overcome my fear!

I think someone else may have had second thoughts too!!!

Gearing up on the platform to hit the next zipline!

Weeeeeeee! Zipping through the Rain Forest all by himself!

DID I MENTION TO YOU THAT THIS EXACT ZIPLINE COURSE is… the LONGEST,TALLEST,FASTEST zipline in Central America?

Yup… when we do things.. we go BIG! Lets just say this was an adventure of a lifetime! Was I scared? Heck ya! Soaring thousands of feet in the air, not being in control of what was happening, the fear of the unknown! Goodness… But it was so worth me learning to overcome my fears. My fear of heights, my fear of not being in control, my fear of death. To say that I went to Costa Rica on a month long Journey is pretty cool, but to say that I went on the longest, fastest, tallest zipline and actually did it?!! That’s impressive!!!! LIFE CHANGING!

Have you been to Costa Rica or planning to travel there in the near future? Check out my other posts on our Costa Rican Journey as we traveled the whole Countryside looking for ADVENTURE and let me tell you…. we sure found it!!!

Don’t be afraid of FAILING, BE AFRAID OF NOT TRYING!”
